Curriculum Overview

At Broadmere Primary School, our curriculum is designed to inspire, challenge and support every child to achieve their full potential. Rooted in inclusivity and ambition, our curriculum goes beyond the National Curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our pupils and reflect the unique context of our school communities.

We believe that children learn best when they are engaged, curious and confident. Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to build knowledge and skills progressively, ensuring that pupils know more and remember more over time. It is enriched with purposeful experiences, creative opportunities, and meaningful connections across subjects to foster a love of learning.

Reading is at the heart of our curriculum. We prioritise fluency, vocabulary development and a passion for books, recognising that reading unlocks access to all areas of learning. Our language-rich environment supports pupils to articulate their thinking and develop high-quality communication skills.

Technology is embedded throughout our curriculum to enhance learning, remove barriers, and prepare pupils for the digital world. We use adaptive teaching strategies and inclusive practices to ensure that every child, regardless of background or ability, receives a high-quality education.

Our curriculum promotes resilience, independence, and personal responsibility. It nurtures pupils’ emotional wellbeing alongside academic success, helping them to become respectful, responsible citizens who are ready for the next stage of their education and life beyond school.

We continuously reflect and refine it to ensure it remains purposeful, relevant and impactful.
