Welcome to Broadmere Primary School
The staff, governors and I would like to welcome you to Broadmere Primary School. We work collaboratively with New Monument Primary and Nursery as I am the Executive Headteacher, privileged to lead both of the schools. We are proud to belong to the Bourne Education Trust which echoes our ethos and aims to deliver the very best educational experience for all of it's pupils.
Our children learn in a caring, safe, nurturing environment that reflects the multicultural society in which our school is set. We value all children as individuals and we encourage them to develop into independent, resourceful and caring citizens. We value and encourage parental involvement as we consider that a close partnership between home and school is essential for children to gain maximum benefit from their time with us. For this reason the Broadmere and New Monument schools employ a Home School Link worker to ensure our families are supported and we operate an ‘open door’ policy.
Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of every learner in our school. It is creative, investigative and relevant as it is our mission to inspire our learners to achieve their potential. Our teachers love teaching and strive to provide real life experiences to enhance their pupils' learning. During the year classes go on several educational visits with workshops and visitors to the school invited to support the engagement of our children with the topics they are exploring. The children’s learning environments are vibrant and encompass indoor and outdoor learning experiences. We have a large school field used for PE lessons as well as lunchtime and after school clubs. Our sports coaches and teaching staff provide popular clubs which change half termly. Indoor lunchtime clubs are available for children preferring organised activities.
ICT is used to enhance our children's learning. A significant investment in equipment has ensured that children have daily access to the learn pads in each classroom. The school also has an ICT suite for whole class teaching and for the lunchtime Computing Club.
As a learning community we are committed to ensuring all staff are included in a cycle of appropriate, continuous training, relevant to the needs of our school.
Please watch the video taken 'on location' in our 2 year olds nursery. We are delighted with the progress of our youngest learners - it is a joy to visit in the nursery and watch the learning taking place.
I hope you enjoy reading about our school – it will give you a flavour of the opportunities we provide for our children, however, please come in to see us in action as we always welcome visitors
